On March 21, 2002, we acquired Hernnhut Apartments next door to the prayer room on Red Bridge Road. This tremendous resource has housed many staff members, interns, and visitors from around the world and continues to serve as a great asset to our ministry.

On May 7, 1999, the International House of Prayer of Kansas City (IHOPKC) was founded by Mike Bickle and twenty full-time “intercessory missionaries,” who cried out to God in prayer with worship for thirteen hours each day. Four months later, on September 19, 1999, prayer and worship extended to the full 24/7 schedule. Forerunner School of Prayer, which would later become International House of Prayer University, was founded in 1999, equipping people to intercede and lead a lifestyle of prayer. At IHOPKC, Bickle emphasizes fasting, prophesy, the spiritual realm, and the end times. Some consider his ministry a part of the independent charismatics, though he has rejected the “New Apostolic Reformation” label. He appeared on Charisma’s Strang Report earlier this month to share a prophetic word regarding the war in Israel, and earlier this year held a fast for the “salvation of Israel,” which Bickle says will bring about the Second Coming. Over the last 25 plus years, the Lord has graciously given us about 25 powerful prophetic experiences that provide insight into what will happen in the days ahead in Kansas City, the USA, and other nations. These supernatural experiences were given to several prophetic people in the 1970s and 1980s.
